Illnesses such as the cold and flu are some of the most common ailments that our patients suffer from, especially during the winter months. With so many similar symptoms, it can be difficult to self-diagnosis exactly what you have and the best way to treat yourself. The medical staff at iCare ER & Urgent Care can provide you a private examination by one of our 20 board-certified physicians that rotate in and out of both facilities in Frisco and Fort Worth, TX. With a proper diagnosis, we can help you treat both the root cause and your symptoms for faster relief. Our urgent care hours are extended during the day to treat you for any severity of your illness. We also offer 24-hour emergency services if your illness has progressed far enough in severity.
"I was seen very promptly, they took good care of me. All staff members were extremely nice. One of my favorite places of all time."- R.O. / Yelp / Mar 10, 2018
"I really hate to give this review but they deserve it based on the quality of care My family and I have received over the last 2 years. I say hate to give a review because we have never waited more than 10 minutes and the quality of care is always excellent. I hate to wait in line. I really do not like urgent care facilities because I find them very slow and they tend to have deceptive business practices. ICare is very straight forward, fast, and a has caring attitude. They want to give you the best care possible and get you out of there quickly. Everyone hates going to urgent care because it takes forever and tends to be expensive. This is not the case at ICare. My advice is to give them a try the next time you need to see a doctor. Call ahead and confirm if it is urgent care vs emergency care. I think you will be very pleased."- R.G. / Yelp / May 19, 2019
"I pulled a muscle in my back and was in extremely pain. My daughter drove me and she went into the facility to get a wheelchair and returned with 2 people. Wilson the Nurse was extremely professional, kind and sympathetic. He patiently &gently helped get me as comfortable as I could. He explained EVERYTHING throughly. He respected what I had to say and truly listened.Dr Cole did the same. I was treated with necessary medicine and began to feel better. I was given the necessary Rx and was out of the faculty in 90 minutes. I would highly recommend this Urgent Care."- J.K. / Google / Apr 30, 2019

"They were honest, kind and thorough. I can't ask for anything more than that!"- A.D. / Google / Apr 28, 2019
Seeking Medical Care
While the cold or flu can often be treated at home with rest and hydration, patients should seek medical treatment at iCare if they exhibit the following:
- Fever for more than 3 days
- Fever over 103º F combined with sweating, chills, and a cough
These symptoms indicate you may have an infection from your illness and you should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. We also recommend coming to iCare if you experience cold or flu symptoms along with severe chest pain, a severe headache, shortness of breath, dizziness, confusion, or continuous vomiting. Additionally, young children and the elderly should be treated professionally at the iCare for flu symptoms, even without a fever. People who have diminished immune systems, chronic inflammation, have had an organ or bone marrow transplant, undergoing chemotherapy, or have HIV/AIDS will more likely need to be treated as soon as possible to fight off infection.
After Your Visit
Resting is so important to your recovery. We recommend that you return home, keep hydrated, and rest. If you have been prescribed medication, fill it as soon as possible and take all of the medication as directed. Do not stop taking the prescribed medication just because you feel better. If your symptoms do not improve, you may need to be seen in a follow-up appointment.
What to Expect
When you come into the iCare, our attentive team of physicians will initially perform a medical history interview to determine the severity of your symptoms. Lab tests may be required to eliminate the possibility of other ailments as well as check for dehydration. After diagnosing your illness, you may be prescribed prescription medicine to help fight infection or prevent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. The physician treating you additionally may give you care instructions that include over-the-counter medication, rest, and hydration.
